About Us

Burwood Stud began as a spelling and agistment farm in the early 1980s, though Noel’s passion for horses started much earlier with the local Pony Club.

Noel and Christine raised their three children on what is now one of Australia’s premier standardbred studs and Queensland’s leading nursery.

Their son Jonathon, grandson Caleb, and Jonathon’s wife Megan now help run the family business, with Megan handling office duties and social media.

Our Team

Noel & Chris are owners and oversee all operations at Burwood Stud

Noel, Jonathon & Caleb are all in charge of the everyday workings at the stud from feeding, foaling, reproduction work, handling horses, worming & vaccinating, farrier work and everything to do with the horses. They also do all the farming and maintenance to keep the stud running smoothly and make sure there is sufficient feed supplies on the farm.

Noel & Christine enjoy gardening and spending time with the Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren,
travelling and weekly catch ups with friends.

Outside of the stud, Jonathon enjoys going fishing and having a quiet xxxx or two.

Caleb when he gets a chance he enjoys Campdrafting, taking his dogs chasing feral pigs,
and picking up his guitar and doing a bit of singing.

Megan oversees all the social media aspects of the stud and also helps out in the office.
In her spare time she enjoys breeding poultry and using her skills with the camera, taking photos around the stud.
